Charity Shop Book Haul

So welcome back to another update on my reading habits. Just before December (yes I know that this is REALLY late, mentally gives myself a slap and carries on anyway)  I went to a Charity shop book haul just to see what I could get for my money and I think I managed to pick up a few good finds but I'll let you be the judge of that.

So the first book I picked up was Panic By Lauren Oliver.
Synopsis in a sentence: When teenagers get bored in summer, shit happens.

As you may have seen I have recently posted an Instagram post on this book as a hint on what the next book I am planning to review will be but so far it has been really good and it's really making me wish for some summer sun. I got this book for a couple of pounds in one of my high street charity shops and its in really good condition actually which I am so over the moon about. Plus, it was the hardback with is normally £14.99 so for a student budget like mine it was a really great find.

The other hardback I picked up on my charity shop binge was a Conn Iggulden book called Wars of the Roses.
Synopsis in a sentence: And you thought your family was messed up ...
This probably seems like a really odd book for me to pick up based on the previous books I've read. But I got this one more as some fun revision to do before my exams as one of the modules in my history exam is on the wars of the roses. This book is the first in a series and it's a little bit hefty in terms of the length of the thing but fingers crossed I will be able to get through it. (She types whilst anxiously biting her fingernails...)

Both of these final two books have been on my wishlist for a while so when I saw them both at almost dirt cheap prices I just had to pick them up. The first of these two books was 'The Graces' by Laure Eve.
Synopsis in a sentence: When beauty goes too far and becomes something much more savage
Some on Goodreads have given this book a bit of a hard time in my opinion. Conceptually this book sounds really good its got a link to Greek mythology which I ALWAYS enjoy and most importantly seems to have a bit of a psychological angle on the main character. But then again maybe that's just me reading too far into things. (Fingers crossed that I actually enjoy this book.)

When this final book came out there was a good deal of hype around it so I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it actually lives up to it. The book I speak of is called 'Ink and Bone' by Rachel Caine and she has also published another series which I loved called 'The Morganville Vampires' series (just in small print here: I do know that this is a bit of a marmite kind of book but please don't hate too much and in even smaller print here: even my love for these books will not cover up that they get worse towards the end).
Synopsis in a sentence: I thought my job could be bad sometimes but this might really take the biscuit.

Basically, this book is about working somewhere that is every reader's dream. A Library. (Que aesthetically pleasing montage of Library pics) So basically if you are in the mood to escape to the library (which in my case is virtually every day) this maybe the book for you. I'm hoping for some plot twists and high-quality thrills personally. Although saying that if she burns the library down there may be an angry/frustrated tweet coming at Rachel Caine.

Until the next time,
Happy Reading x
